Privacy Policy

VELL (“we,” “us,” “our”) is not yet a registered company — we're a small team building a creator commerce platform for Africa, currently in pre-launch. We're building with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 as our baseline, since that's our primary market, and we aim to respect equivalent protections for visitors from anywhere else.

When you join the waitlist: your full name, email address, phone number, country, and what you make or sell. If you answer the optional follow-up questions, we also collect how you currently get paid and roughly where and how large your audience is. Every one of those follow-up questions is skippable.

When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message.

Automatically: the page that referred you to our site, if any, and aggregate, anonymous usage statistics — see “Analytics” below.

We don't ask for passwords or payment card details on this website — there's nothing to buy here yet. We don't use tracking cookies, we don't fingerprint your device, and we don't buy data about you from anyone else.

• To message you when early access opens.
• To understand our market — which countries and product categories to prioritize while we build, so the first version of VELL is actually useful to the people who signed up for it.
• To reply to whatever you send us through the contact form.

The basis for all of this is your consent — you gave us this information by choosing to fill out a form. You can withdraw that consent at any time; see “Your rights” below.

We use Vercel Analytics to see aggregate traffic and a handful of on-page events (for example, whether someone submitted the waitlist form). This tool doesn't use cookies and doesn't build a profile tied to you as an individual — we see counts and trends, not who did what.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. Two infrastructure providers process it on our behalf, to run this website:

• Supabase — stores your signup and contact-form data in a secured database.
• Vercel — hosts this website and runs the aggregate analytics described above.

We keep waitlist and contact data until VELL launches and you become a customer — at which point separate terms will apply — or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Everything you send us travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Our database is locked down with row-level security, so only our own backend — not the public internet, not even us using the public API key — can read your signup.

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — at any time, for any reason. To do any of this, use our contact form. We'll act on it as soon as we reasonably can.

VELL is meant for creators old enough to run a business. This site isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We'd rather change too little than bury a real change in fine print.
